the GOAL
At Waste World, our mission is to redefine the way people think about secondhand shopping by creating a space where sustainability, community, and creativity come together.
We believe that every piece of clothing deserves the opportunity for a second life. By extending the lifespan of vintage fashion, we help reduce textile waste and encourage more thoughtful, intentional shopping habits.
But our mission goes far beyond that…
Waste World was built to support people just as much as the planet. We're proud to provide opportunities for local vendors and small businesses to grow - giving entrepreneurs a place to share their passions, build their brands, and connect with a like minded community.
We strive to create special experiences people genuinely look forward to. Through exciting events, seasonal celebrations, and a welcoming atmosphere - we hope to bring people together, spark new connections, and make every visit to Waste World feel memorable for everyone.
Our goal is not simply just to sell cool vintage clothing, but to build a community that chooses to shop with purpose, supports one another, and sees value in giving secondhand pieces a new life.

Thanks for being here, I'm Tycee!
I'm an Arizona native, lifelong thrifter, and someone who's always believed in the beauty of second chances. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of going to garage sales and goodwills with my grandma, searching for hidden treasures. That love for thrifting never faded — it grew into a dream of opening a store of my own.
As I got into high school, I became part of an amazing community of people while selling at local markets. Although I loved the markets, I always wished there was a permanent place where we could all grow together. When I had the opportunity to open my own storefront at 22 years old, I knew I wanted to create more than just another vintage shop. I wanted to build a welcoming space where people could shop sustainably, support local vendors, and feel like they belonged. As a queer woman owned business, creating a space where everyone feels seen, safe, and welcome has always been important to me.
If there's one person who believed in Waste World as much as I did, it was my dad Ben. He believed in every crazy idea I had, was my biggest supporter, and became my unofficial business partner. After I signed the lease in June of 2025, he was the first person I called. Together, we spent every early morning and late night for weeks transforming an old building into the store I'd dreamt about for years.
Waste World opened on August 1, 2025. Suddenly three days later, I lost my dad.
Continuing on after that was the hardest thing I've ever done, but I knew how much he believed in me and this dream. With the love of my close family, friends, and this incredible community - I found the strength to keep showing up.
Today, Waste World is more than a thrift store, it's a reflection of the people who helped build it. Every customer, every vendor, and every event reminds me why I started. This dream began with me, was built alongside my dad, and continues because of the community that surrounds it.

FUN FACT:
The original name I swore by before Waste World was ‘Dawg World’
Ben (my dad) thought it sounded too much like a place for dogs and told me people will think they’re walking into a pet store… safe to say Waste World was the better choice!
